Bees in the English countryside

Standard

Anthony J Sargeant photographed this bee in his garden this morning (9th July 2015). The Shropshire hedgerows and meadows and our garden are teeming with bees at this time of the year. There are over 250 species of bee in the British Isles. It is sometimes quite difficult to distinguish between them. I am open to correction but this one could be a Red Mason Bee.
