Anthony J Sargeant recommends Red Gurnard as an excellent eating fish

Anthony Sargeant bought these Red Gurnard at Birmingham Market this morning (5th March 2016). Photographed just after starting to fillet the one to the back of the chopping board. They yield an excellent tasty and firm meaty flesh. At one time they used to be thrown back in the sea by Cornish fishermen or simply used as bait in lobster pots.
