The parents of Anthony Sargeant bought one of these in the late 1950s. It was put into the front room at 59 Allerford Road, Catford SE 6. Covered in a slightly textured thin vinyl coloured silver and maroon it had an autochanger mechanism which allows up to 8 records to be played one after the after. If the records were the old solid shellac 78 rpm records they would drop with a resounding thud onto the turntable in an alarming manner.
